Ubuntu Linux Book Blog - Welcome!

Hello -

If you need to learn how to use Ubuntu Linux, you've come to the right place!

Keep an eye on this blog regularly and you'll see a great Ubuntu Linux training book gradually develop right before your eyes!

In this "Ubuntu Linux Book / eBook Blog" you'll learn lots of amazing tasks you can do with Ubuntu Linux!

You'll learn how to get Ubuntu Linux so you can work with it, how to run Ubuntu "live", how to install Ubuntu Linux, upgrade Ubuntu, install Linux software programs, work at the Linux desktop - and lots and lots more!

You'll learn Ubuntu Linux in an easy way that saves you time, avoids frustration - and you'll also have some fun!

My name is Clyde Boom and I've been teaching people how to used computer software programs and work with operating systems (such as Linux) for over 20 years now.

Many people find it difficult and confusing to learn how to use Linux, so I've taken the time to come up with methods of describing how to use Linux in general - and Ubuntu Linux specifically - in an easy-to-learn, friendly, non-technical manner - so you can learn how to use Ubuntu Linux in Plain English!

This "Ubuntu Linux Book / eBook Blog" will describe lots of important Linux concepts and commonly used Linux tasks and also show you how to use Ubuntu Linux with lots of Hands-On Exercises (Ubuntu Linux training labs). These Ubuntu Linux labs show you step-by-step how to work with Ubuntu Linux so you can try the exercises yourself.

As you work through these Linux training labs, you'll get a brief description of a Linux task, then see the steps required to do the task - and then a summary of what you just did and why you did it!

Ubuntu Linux Training Terms - How to Understand the Linux "Lingo"

Trying to understand something like Ubuntu Linux is very difficult when you're constantly coming across words (such as Ubuntu Linux terms) that you've never seen before.

Here's what's happened to cause this problem - over time, lots of Linux words (terms) have been created to describe the same thing!

So, here's what you'll get instead of just a single confusing Linux term - whenever you come across a Linux term, you'll either see a brief description of the term, or have a link to a description of the term.

I will often use "a.k.a" (short for also known as) to describe a word or term, like a "Linux application" (a.k.a. Linux application software program, Linux software program).

In the example above, the words: Linux application software program, Linux software program can all be used to describe "Linux application".

I'm quite excited about using this "Ubuntu Linux Book / eBook Blog" to develop an Ubuntu Linux training book / ebook - and I'm also quite interested in your comments and feedback.
