Burning Ubuntu Linux To Create the Ubuntu Linux "Live" CD

When you download Ubuntu Linux, you are downloading something called a Linux ISO file - that you need to burn to a blank CD (and not a blank DVD).

Ubuntu Linux Training Tips: If you don't want to, or don't know how to, burn a file to a CD, then you can either order an Ubuntu Linux CD or DVD for delivery, or learn how to burn a Linux ISO file to CD.

There are Ubuntu Linux video tutorials that show you all the details of downloading and burning a Linux ISO file to CD. These is Ubuntu Linux videos also show you how to boot, install and use Ubuntu Linux. Click here to see the Table of Contents of these Ubuntu Linux videos.

When you download the Ubuntu Linux ISO file, it will likely be put on the desktop (of your Windows or Linux system).

Then you need to run a program to test that your Linux ISO file downloaded properly (without corruption).

And run another program to burn the Linux ISO file to a CD.

Then you boot with this Ubuntu Linux CD and start running the "live" version of Ubuntu Linux

At this point, you have the complete Ubuntu Linux OS, including the GNOME desktop, running on your system from a single CD - without having to install Ubuntu Linux!

If you want to install Ubuntu, then all you have to do is double-click on the "Install" icon that's on the Ubuntu Linux desktop to start the installation routine and install Ubuntu Linux.

Ubuntu Linux Training Tips: The Ubuntu Linux ISO file that you download is about 700 MB and so high speed Internet access is strongly suggested.
